Todd Greenwald, analista da Nollenberger Capital Partners, acredita que as vendas de “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” da Activision devem superar as de “Halo 3″, da Microsoft Game Studios. Difícil? Nem tanto. Greenwald explica:”Certamente é o jogo de maior sucesso de crítica que a Activision já criou. Tenha em mente que ‘Call of Duty 4′ está sendo lançado para quatro vezes mais sistemas (PC, PS3, X360, DS) que ‘Halo 3′ (X360). Halo 3 vendeu até agora 4 milhões. Um ano atrás, ‘Call of Duty 3′ vendeu mais de 3 milhões e nós estimamos que a versão dessa ano possa chegar a 4 milhões ou mais”, disse o analista.
A versão demo single-player de “Call of Duty 4″ sai nesta quinta-feira (11), e a Activision liberou as configurações mínima e recomendada para o game de tiro.
Pela primeira vez, “Call of Duty” deixa para trás a Segunda Guerra Mundial, evento bélico preferido entre os produtores de games, para concentrar-se em um novo contexto - no caso, uma guerra moderna. Com esta dose extra de liberdade, por não estar tão “presa” a uma época histórica, a Infinity Ward quer explorar o arsenal, cheio de armas avançadas, e os campos de batalha, ambientados em locais diversos do globo.
